Logan was still heavily drugged and had no idea how much time had passed. All he knew was that he was still alive and it had to because Brakka wanted to do the deed himself. By now they'd used his DNA to confirm his identity and the Orion Lieutenant would be well on his way to deal with the prodigal operative.
He had no idea how the Syndicate knew he was still alive, let alone how they had found him but if he didn't get out of here soon, it wouldn't just be him that paid the price. Kaitlyn would be dead not long after. The lone bright side was that his system was adjusting to whatever they had been giving to him and his tolerance was building. If he was going to escape, the time would have to be soon.
"Brakka said he'll be here in by the afternoon," a male voice said.
"Why the delay? He said he'd be here by now when we called him," a familiar female voice replied.
"He got delayed crossing through DS9. I guess someone flagged him and he had to talk his way out of it," the man replied.
"Whatever. I just want to get paid so we can get out of this hell hole. They've had ten years to clean it up and it's still shot to shit."
"Just be patient Ceretta. He'll get here when he gets here."
"Chye-eah… whatever," she scoffed.
Slowly Logan was becoming more coherent and planning his means of escape. To his captors, it had to appear like he was still out but out of the corner of his eye, he placed both of his captors that were in the room. He remembered Ceretta saying she had friends. Plural. That meant there were an unknown number of Orion Syndicate flunkies. He needed to take care of these two, lose this chair he was chained to and fight his way to the extraction point.
He took a deep breath and got his heart pumping as best he could, raising the adrenaline level in his system. Then he counted… one… two… three…

Ceretta and a half dozen of her group were dead. The other dozen were now hot on his trail. So far he'd managed to stay ahead of them but not without some consequences. On top of the phaser blast he'd taken when he was captured, he now had three more burns to go with it. That included a much more recent one to his right leg. It was bad and it was slowing him down. It was bad enough he didn't know if he'd make to the extraction point but even if he didn't, he was going to take as many of these bastards down with him. Maybe it would be enough to keep Kaitlyn safe.
To his left and straight ahead he heard voices coordinating to look for him. He knew what was behind him and it was no better. That meant his only option was to go right. At least it seemed like an option. Less than a hundred feet down the alley he realized it was a dead-end.
The stolen phaser in his hand, his body battered and broken, he turned to face the gang coming after him. He turned the weapon up to its highest setting and braced himself.
