James and Adlyn found themselves heading towards the office of Captain Bratar, and as they walked, they walked in silence, knowing that they both felt an anger unparalleled before. James looked at her as they reached the office. "Whatever happens, I'll take responsibility." James said.

Adlyn just nodded and walked behind him by a step to keep an eye on his back just in case something happened that followed the path that had been there a few days before. Even though she had been through the finest Starfleet medical treatments, the pain lingered deep in her bones - it was something that would eventually go away on its own...

As they finally entered, James saw Captain Bratar standing in front of his desk. "Colonel Racktor, what you and your people have done is outstanding." Is what Bratar tried to say. However, all he got out was "Colonel Racktor..."

James' fist immediately made contact with Bratar's face, sending the man flying across the office, slamming into his office wall. As Bratar fell to the ground, his yeoman immediately called for security and went to help Bratar up. James, however, got there first, and grabbed Bratar by the scruff of his neck, before punching him again, leaving the man sprawled across his desk, just as Security raced in and grabbed hold of Racktor.

"Your career's over, Racktor!" Bratar snarled, wiping blood from his nose.

"By the time I'm done, you son of a bitch, you'll never have a command of anything bigger than a bathtub, you bastard. YOU LET MY PEOPLE DIE!" He shouted.

"They serve the Federation." Bratar snarled.

"Not egomaniacal bastards like you." James said, before breaking loose of the guards, and smashing Bratar's face into his desk. He then grabbed his rank insignia and threw it on the desk. "Neither will I serve dogs like you, you pathetic, miserable worm." James snarled, storming out of the office.

Adlyn had put herself between the Yeoman and the security forces that just entered the room. She stood with her feet evenly beneath her hips between them and clasped her hands behind her back. They raised their weapons at her - it was enough that they would have to go through her to get to the colonel, and these security forces she knew. She had trained with them in the off hours down in the gym when she was at Intelligence headquarters when she had transitioned from Starfleet into Intelligence. When they bore down the sights at her, she stepped to the right and firmed her stance. One of the guards took a step back. Now they knew how serious she was standing firm between them and Bratar. As the Colonel turned and moved towards the exit of the office, she stepped to the side and walked a foot ahead of him.

The guards turned and continued to train their weapons on her as they walked past. Slowly, as they passed, she then stepped behind the former Colonel. It wasn't her place to speak at this juncture. Her time would come, and they weren't going to like what they had to hear.

Time: A Month Later

Adlyn had spent the last month at Starfleet Intelligence Headquarters trying to trace the Intel back from where it came from. She had no luck so far, but that wasn't going to stop her. She was determined to find the leak, and any other compromised operations. That's when she found one. Downloading the information, she grabbed the PADD and went to find her Superior.

After he looked at it, he put the PADD down. "He is a capable field agent; he can handle himself."

"Sir, that's not the point. He has been compromised on a deep undercover assignment. It's our job to ensure that mission doesn't get compromised," Adlyn stated.

"There are protocols that need to be followed. Extricating a deep undercover operative without confirmation of the cover being blown is against protocol."

"At least let me verify my intelligence on my own recognizance," she pleaded. "This way we can secure our agent if things go sideways. It will take me a couple days to reach there on a shuttle. I will observe and not interfere until he calls for extraction. Protocol will be followed."

He threw his hand up. "Fine. It'll be your hide if you break protocol."

"Sir, yes Sir." She turned and left.
