She usually wears lightly colored makeup that enhances her already striking features, if she was to wear it in the first place. She rarely wears jewelry due to the job description, but enjoys wearing it as they didn't have that on Ekahl.

Her hair is usually down allowing the natural waves to cascade over her shoulders or she wears it up in one or two french braids. Sometimes she will just wear it in a tight pony tail or loose bun. She normally tries to keep it up off her shoulders while on duty.

General Overview Quiet and with a keen sense of awareness, Adlyn keeps away from those that she really doesn't know. Most of her time before entering Starfleet Academy was classified when she received refugee status. Even though she appears human on the outside, she is far from it, and tries to keep herself safe by not opening up to others all that often. When someone finds out that she is not as she appears to be, her answers are usually vague and nondescript as it was a painful part of her life that she tries to forget.

She will avoid large crowds as much as possible, as well as conflict situations. Her bubbly personality will show once she warms up to someone. Those that are close to her, leave her past where it belongs. Her interests are varied, and her history could be considered colorful. She rarely discusses herself and usually is kept buried in a mound of paperwork or focused on the mission at hand.

Personal History Born in the Southern Engineering Sector, she was pulled away to the Northern Province Engineering Sector of Ekahl, Adlyn grew up with all the tools she would ever need. As per her species ways, before children were born, they were assigned to a sector. Most of the time, they were assigned to the area that their parents were in. Sometimes though, they are assigned to the area that they are needed to be in. For Adlyn, her entire family as far back as she could trace were all engineers for the Southern Province. Even though she was forced to leave her family behind, it served her well as Engineering turned out to be her love and passion.

Life was good on Ekahl for many years even though unrest between the Northern and Southern ways started to brew larger and became more and more unmanagable as time advanced. The South felt that the citizens had a choice as to what implants to receive when they become of age, and allowed customization to happen. The North felt that the implants should be controlled and limited as to not drive the people to killing each other. These choices was one of the many differences between the two regions, and the civil unrest finally brewed over and escalated to full out war.

The Sectors were brought together to fight each other, knowing that they were fighting friends and colleagues. This is when everyone was forced into service to fight for their home province, and this is where Adlyn received her advanced training to become an espionage fighter.

Not long after the war broke out, the subtle espionage and sabotage failed to end things. Then all out battle fronts were formed, and then the missiles were launched, bombing most of the heavily populated areas. The last missiles launched from both sides ended up loaded with chemical reactants. The biological warfare decimated the Ekahl species. There was a handful of survivors that found themselves immune to the effects of the biological attack. Problem was their resources were destroyed and they had barely anything to live on.

The survivors banded together and put the war behind them, as most of them were civilians either too old or too young to fight, pregnant, or military cogs fighting a war that most of them didn't even believe in. As the war ravaged their planet, the survivors realized that they needed to leave Ekahl for good to find a new home.

Before the war, Adlyn had a snarky, bubbly attitude and was very outgoing, loving every minute of her day. Since the start of the war, she locked herself down, losing herself to protect what she held dear against her people's ways - her family. The now barren world fraught with radiation and biological attack fallout didn't make the choice hard for them. Gathering what they had left, they left the safety net in their little corner of the Gamma Quadrant and made the seven year journey to a planet they were originally going to colonize in a couple of decades.

Within the first year, they were doing okay. Tight quarters left for little luxuries or comforts aboard the 5 vessels they had with almost 3000 people per vessel. However, things rapidly changed when the Jem'Hadar came across them and attacked. They fought the Jem'Hadar off and on throughout the years. First contact by the Federation was made after the Dominion War, one last vessel remained, and less than 2000 people remained alive.

The Jem'Hadar attacks had hardened Adlyn even further. Getting rescued by Starfleet, they were given time to adjust to friendlier aliens. They had known that there had to be other races out there but had never made contact to them outside of the Jem'Hadar attacks and first contact. Most of the Ekahl were relocated to a nondescript small colony moon in one of the more distant areas of Federation space. This allowed them their peace and quiet away from everyone else as most of them had turned scared and xenophobic.

Not all Ekahl were that way. A few of the military trained people stayed back while others entered the education system and started exploring the new found parts of the galaxy. To date, only two Ekahl have joined Starfleet and have sealed medical records due to their unique species.

Adlyn and her friend separated ways after their cadet cruise. In 2381, both were tapped to join Starlfeet Intelligence. While her friend was more cavalier, Adlyn was one who took a stand back approach to it. She would be periodically throughout the years tapped for assignments as they saw fit, but she did not stay actively with Starfleet Intelligence. She prides herself as an engineer that can defend herself, not a brazen soldier.

She juggled her duties between being an intelligence officer as well as a junior engineer on the MacKenzie. She longed to leave Starfleet Intelligence after bad intelligence got fifty marines from two different units nearly killed on a data retrieval mission from the Orion Syndicate. She had been assigned to the marine contingent Roughnecks as one of the intelligence officer liaisons.

As much as she tried to get out, it never really happened. They just tapped her less and less. Finally, it appears that her wish was granted and in 2386 she served her final Intelligence Mission on the spectre team and returned to Starfleet solely as an engineer. She's been to a couple different ships before her now current posting of Chief Engineering Officer on the Andromeda.
